Martin Jaros moves to Europe

After completing his studies in Australia, Martin Jaros went on a 6 month walkabout in 1996 through Europe, which never ended. After much traveling, and discovering his roots in the Czech Republic, he decided to improve his Czech language by living in Prague for a year, before moving on.

To keep himself busy he took an IT development position with PMM technologies, a small company helping build database solutions for major companies using the latest database technology at the time (SQL and client/server processing). Given his previous experience, Martin quickly became the key account manager for foreign clients, and was at this time solely responsible for building the Canadian Chamber of Commerce funded, Czech Invest database to help foreign companies find partners when entering the Czech Republic. Martin then went on to lead the development of an airplane maintenance system for Fischer Air, the largest private tour operator in the Czech Republic. (no airplane maintained using the system ever crashed).

Martin Jaros then decided to stay a bit longer and take advantage of studying for his MBA in Prague, Czech Republic through a joint program of various multinational companies & Rochester Institute of Technology (New York) aimed at furthering the development of professionals in Central Europe.

Wanting to gain some multinational experience prior to his MBA studies, Martin joined Shell Czech Republic as the Business Systems Engineer for Czech and Slovakia, where he upgraded and rebuilt the core accounting and business systems, implementing the latest in client/server technology, and improving the efficiency of some business processes through automation and simplification.

In 1997, Martin Jaros founded his first Czech company, dedicated to providing consulting services in IT, which he built up during his MBA studies, as it was no longer possible to study and work full time.

At the age of 22, Martin Jaros completed his MBA from RIT with a perfect 4.0 GPA, and gave the graduation speech for his class as co-Valedictorian.
