Martin grew up studying and working in Melbourne, Australia. After his bachelors degree he relocated to Europe, where has been actively working and studying since 1996.
He has worked for major international companies such as Altria (previously Phillip Morris), Mondelez (previously Kraft), Royal Dutch Shell in various key positions within finance and IT (Country CFO, Regional ERP Manager, Global Business Intelligence Manager) and held a number of Supervisory & Board positions (such as Vice-Chair at Ceska Rafinerska a.s. / Czech Refining Company and board member of Shell Czech Republic a.s.)
Martin actively continues to study and keep abreast of the latest thinking which he aims to implement in practical terms with his clients. He has a Bachelors degree in Business Management at Monash University, (B.BusMgmt), completed his MBA at RIT, been certified as an Information Systems Auditor (CISA by ISACA), Management Accountant (ACMA by CIMA) and is currently completing his Accounting Certification (ACCA).
In addition, Martin strongly believes in the need to mix people (soft) skills, with technical skills and targets personal growth as much as corporate growth. He is certified to perform Emotional Intelligent Assessments (by Hayes Group), he is certified to use the VARK methodology for training groups & individuals, he has undergone numerous courses on coaching, selling, negotiating and helping individuals with personal growth & development.
Finally, Martin actively tries to give back to the community, he has been lecturing for the Controller Institute which aims to grow young finance professionals into CFO’s/Controllers, on Strategic Controlling since 2009, and in 2013 added Business Intelligence & Reporting. Additionally he has run a number of workshops and discussions related to strategic management which were open to the public, and works with small business owners to help them build better businesses.
Martin speaks English and Czech fluently, has very good German skills and is actively learning Hungarian.
